What to do to increase stomach acid

Tuesday, September 7, 2021

The most important thing you need to stay healthy is good nutrition. A nutrition that can be described as a good lock is not only what you eat, contrary to what is believed. Good digestive function is as important as the foods you consume.

Good digestion is not controlled by a single factor. It has more than one variable. These are gastric acidity, bile and secretory power of the pancreas. But not all these factors have the same value. Gastric acid is more important than bile and pancreatic secretion. So why?

Here are the tasks of stomach acid:

Provides neutralization of harmful bacteria in foods.

This is where the first digestion of nutrients starts. If this stage does not proceed correctly, the nutrients may not break down enough in the intestines.

Many digestive enzymes are released inactive. In order to activate these enzymes, stomach acid is also needed.

Nutrients that are not sufficiently disintegrated cannot be absorbed in the right amount, thus feeding intestinal bacteria excessively. This leads to the formation of bad intestinal flora in the long term.

Controls the population of bacteria in the first part of the small intestine.
So the main idea about digestion should be this. People with bad digestion cannot be healthy!

That’s why I want to tell you about ways to increase stomach acid, which is the key to digestion. In this way, you will solve the serious problem you may encounter.

If you’re ready, we’re entering the world of stomach acid!

Stomach acid: Very, very strong

The pH of gastric acid, which is one of the most powerful acids you can see in nature, varies between 2 and 3. This power is strong enough to melt and pierce a thin board.

Do we need something that powerful? The question may come to your mind. My answer is yes! Because we know that stomach acid is not just about the function of breaking down nutrients.

So what do you experience with stomach acid deficiency?

SYBO, excessive bacterial growth in the small intestine,
Reflux (yes, reflux is not only associated with a high level of stomach acid. Also, if the stomach acid is low, the risk of reflux increases),
Autoimmune diseases and permeable bowel syndrome (leaky gut),
Chronic deficiency of vitamins and minerals (especially b12 and iron),
IBS,
Chronic infection.

Stomach acid deficiency is just a few of the problems you will experience. Here we want to strengthen the stomach acid to prevent them.

I would like to list some of the gastric acid methods I recommend for you to my patients.

My suggestions for strengthening stomach acid

There are many mechanisms that can cause stomach acid deficiency. Therefore, it is useful to act specific to the mechanism. The following recommendations approach many mechanisms from different perspectives. So it may not be beneficial in every stomach acid deficiency.

The idea of meditating before a meal sounds crazy, but it can be of great benefit. Because your body is excited, anxious and full of fear suppresses digestive secretions. We call it “fight or flight” in English “fight and flight”.

Meditation takes you out of the “sympathetic” state that suppresses this digestive enzyme and puts you in a “parasympathetic” state. Instead of saying “war or run iniz, your body starts to say“ rest and digest indir.

Feeding quickly (on foot) often causes digestive problems.

Avoiding cold drinks is a fairly simple habit to strengthen stomach acid. The reason is very simple. Cold foods suppress stomach acid.

You should not consume cold drinks before, during or after a meal to prevent the secretion of stomach acid.

You should stop fluid intake at least 1 hour before a meal and do not consume cold drinks until 2 hours before a meal.

We do not allow fluid consumption during meals. After the meal, we do not consume liquid for at least 1.5 hours. Cold fluid consumption after meal should not be for at least 2 hours.

Focusing on the right nutrient composition is essential for proper digestion. Because certain foods need more stomach acid for digestion. In addition, certain foods suppress gastric acid release. When you look at the table, a result is as follows.

If you need stomach acid, if you consume a food that weakens digestion, your digestion becomes difficult.

What are the nutrients that suppress the digestive enzyme?

There’s only one group! Carbohydrates. Yeah, you didn’t hear it wrong. Regardless of the type of carbohydrate, all carbohydrates suppress digestive enzyme production.

If you are consuming carbohydrates with a protein-containing nutrient you need more than normal digestive enzymes, it is natural that you have indigestion and now you know the reason.

In addition, consuming healthy fats along with protein-containing products strengthens digestion. Because fats contract the gallbladder to provide more bile release.

That’s why combinations like chicken-rice or meat-mashed potatoes are delicious, but they are very unfortunate in terms of digestion.

Adding fermented foods to your diet is another digestive potentiator. There’s something important I want to draw your attention to. We do not prefer fermented foods for everyone. Because in individuals with impaired intestinal flora, this type of fermented food can make the flora worse.

But if you are sure of your intestinal flora, probiotic foods are a great way to activate your digestive enzyme. That’s why many people are addicted to pickle juice 🙂

My suggestion would be 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a few pieces of pickle (not pickle juice, because pickle juice reduces the intensity of the digestive enzyme).

Fermented foods contain a lot of histamine and increase their stomach acid thanks to these properties. However, it would be more sensible not to prefer fermented foods in individuals sensitive to histamine.

In this case the best option will be ginger and lemon.

You can get a great stomach acid enhancing tea by squeezing 10 drops of lemon and crushing a small cube of ginger into a tea cup hot water 1 hour before a meal.

The supplement of cabbage juice ”vitamin U olmayan is a delicious but unique way to support stomach acid. Cabbage is not a popular food. But cabbage containing a substance called s-methylmethionine, nicknamed vitamin U, relieves inflammation in the stomach and strengthens stomach acid.

In addition to strengthening the stomach acid, vitamin U has an important role in the treatment of ulcers. It is enough to consume this food, which I use frequently in the clinic, as 1 tea cup (on an empty stomach) every day for 10-15 days.

This cure, which I apply to myself at certain times of the year, has a unique effect to preserve stomach acid and health.

Removing vitamin deficiencies is a must to strengthen stomach acid. Especially B group vitamins (B3, B6 and B12) and zinc are very important for stomach acid production.

This is very important. Because, if a person suffers from stomach acid weakness for some reason during a period of his life and this process takes longer than it should, the absorption of vitamins and minerals is disrupted. Deficient vitamins and minerals cause further reduction of gastric acid. Decreasing stomach acid worsens nutrient deficiency.

You see, don’t you? Like a disaster scenario. If you have entered a vicious cycle of gastric acid, it is very difficult to leave without professional support.

Finally, I want to repeat that it is important to digest nutrients, eat slowly, and use enough salt (yes, not enough salt – enough salt!) For digestion.

As Hippocrates said, “all diseases start in the intestines! Bağırsak

To take good care of your stomach and intestines, you don’t need anything but a strong digestion.
